1. Who we are
i-Nurv LLC builds and markets software applications. We are the developer of JotSpotter, Gogophoto and GoGoLog and responsible for the personal information handled under this policy.
Contact: pvcy@i-nurv.com, PO Box 58, Sewanee, TN 37375, USA.
This policy does not cover apps, platforms or websites that i-Nurv builds or operates for clients. Those are governed by the client's own privacy policy, and the client is responsible for the data collected through them.
2. Information the apps handle
JotSpotter (a journal of the places you visit, with a trip planner and optional modules), Gogophoto (a field camera, light planner and journal for photographers) and GoGoLog (a trip itinerary and travel journal) are designed so that your content stays on your iPhone. i-Nurv does not operate servers for these apps, does not require an account, and does not receive what you put in them.
Stored only on your device
- Trips and itineraries: stops, dates, accommodation, events and bookings, including booking confirmation numbers you enter.
- Journal entries: text, mood, weather, ratings and the people you list.
- Photos (including RAW files in Gogophoto), 30-second video clips and voice notes you capture or import.
- In JotSpotter: the places you log or save, your notes, stars, rankings and lists, and visit suggestions.
- In JotSpotter modules: receipts and the text read from them, expenses, mileage, meetings, recorded hikes and routes, checklists and your safety plan.
- Settings and preferences.
Device permissions, used only when you allow them
- Camera and microphone: to take photos, record video clips and record voice notes.
- Photo library and Files: to import photos you choose and save photos you take.
- Location (while using the app): to show where you are on the map, record where photos taken in the app were taken, and, in Gogophoto, calculate sun and moon positions for your location.
- Location (always), JotSpotter only, and only if you turn on Visit suggestions: to notice when you have stayed somewhere for a while, even when the app is closed, so it can suggest logging that place. Stays and suggestions are kept only on your iPhone, suggestions are deleted after a week, and the app keeps no history of where you have been. Visit suggestions are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time.
- Notifications: for reminders you set and, in JotSpotter, visit suggestions, hike turn-back times and safety check-ins. They are created on your iPhone.
- Calendars: only if you turn on calendar features, to create a calendar for your trip, keep it in step with the app, and import events you pick. The apps change only the events they created.
When the apps go online
- To look up places with Apple Maps (the place names you enter are sent to Apple).
- To read short place summaries from Wikipedia (the place name is sent to Wikipedia).
- To read the details of an event or booking link that you paste (the app requests that web page).
- In JotSpotter, to get weather forecasts from Apple Weather for the places you choose or where you are (the location is sent to Apple).
- In JotSpotter Business Travel, to get currency exchange rates from the European Central Bank's published reference rates through the Frankfurter service (only the currencies and date are requested). Receipts are read on your iPhone; they are not uploaded.
- Writing guides with Apple Intelligence happens on your device where available, under Apple's privacy terms.
Sharing you choose
- When you share an itinerary as a PDF or app file, or share a journal entry, it goes only to the people and apps you pick. Journal content and photos are never included in a shared itinerary. Booking numbers are included only if you leave that option on.
- If you plan a trip together with others, the shared trip is stored in Apple iCloud under your Apple Account and is visible only to the people you invite. i-Nurv cannot access it.
Purchases
JotSpotter is free to download and offers optional In-App Purchases. Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We receive no payment details; Apple tells the app only which purchases your Apple Account owns.
Diagnostics
We do not collect analytics, advertising data or crash data from the apps ourselves. If you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics.
3. This website
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested and time) for security and to keep the site running. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.
4. How we use information
- To provide the features you use, on your device.
- To answer your questions and support requests.
- To fix problems, using anonymous diagnostics if you have chosen to share them.
- To keep this website secure and working.
5. What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We don't show third-party ads in our apps.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps and websites, and we don't access your device's advertising identifier. If that ever changes, we will ask your permission first through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- We don't use your content to train machine-learning models.
7. Your choices and withdrawing consent
- Turn any permission (camera, microphone, photos, location, calendars, notifications) on or off at any time in your iPhone's Settings › Apps › [app name]. Features that need a permission stop working until you allow it again; the rest of the app keeps working.
- Calendar features can be switched off in the app's Settings › Calendar, which can also remove the app's events or calendars.
- In JotSpotter, turn off Visit suggestions in Today › ⋯ › Visit suggestions, and clear any waiting suggestions there.
- Stop sharing a trip at any time, and turn off sharing diagnostics in your iPhone's Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
- To withdraw any other consent you have given us, contact us at the address in section 13.
8. How long we keep data
- App data stays on your device until you delete it or delete the app. Shared trips stay in iCloud until the owner stops sharing or deletes the trip.
- Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to answer them and for our records, and no longer than three years.
- Website server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
9. Deleting your data
- In Gogophoto or GoGoLog, go to Settings › Manage data. You can delete the journal, start a new itinerary, or clear everything, including the app's calendars.
- In JotSpotter, go to Settings › Clear all data. This erases your trips, journal, photos, places, lists, suggestions and module data, and the app's calendars. Purchases are kept with your Apple Account.
- Deleting the app also removes its data from your iPhone.
- To ask us to delete any information we hold about you, such as your emails to us, contact us. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Security
Data in the apps is protected by your iPhone's own encryption and passcode, and anything the apps send online travels over encrypted connections. We limit access to the little information we hold, such as emails and server logs, to the people who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires if a breach affects your information.
11. Children
Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. A parent or guardian who believes their child has given us information can contact us to have it deleted.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California and other US states with privacy laws, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy, correct it, delete it, receive it in a portable format, object to or restrict certain uses, withdraw consent, and complain to your data protection authority.
We will not treat you differently for using these rights. To use them, contact us. You can use an authorized agent where the law allows.
13. Contact us
For questions, requests or complaints about privacy, contact the address below. For help using the apps, see Support.
